★★★★★Charming Adventures -- Whimsical and Appealing!

A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird, hardback edition

A delightful story of a lost bird named Algy. There's just enough uncertainty and adventure in each chapter to keep a young reader wanting to know "what happens next" without being overly frightening or upsetting for very young readers. Algy is whimsical and unusual and doesn't seem to fit in right away with his new surroundings -- appealing to that part in all of us, young and old, that feels left out and searches for a place to call home. There's twists and turns and an ending that isn't overly saccharine, but genuinely happy and charming. Wonderfully Illustrated!

This describes Algy's journey and the various creatures he encounters from first arrival in a beautiful but unfamiliar land. He has difficulties at first, but eventually the story reaches a happy conclusion with Algy surrounded by friends in his new home.

Wonderfully evocative descriptions of the west highland scenery and wildlife.

Algy is a very warm hearted fluffy bird. Everybody will like his story and be eager to see his next adventure.

★★★★A Non-Surprisingly Good Read!

A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird, hardback edition

We have been following The Adventures of Algy on tumblr for a while and were excited to hear that Algy finally made the leap to publishing.

The book is a well written adventure that my daughter enjoyed very much, the only criticism of this effort is that there is some difficult vocabulary (mostly Scottish in origin) that my daughter became frustrated with, though, to be fair, she might be a little under the target age and very much an American. Never-the-less we enjoyed reading it very much and look forward to future installments!

(She does offer an online vocabulary helper at www.adventuresofalgy.com and you can see Algy’s day to day adventures at http://www.adventuresofalgy.com)
